@sam @casseagull Not sure how it works in Canada, but part of the problem is here, at least with what I've seen in California, is that religions lobbied to get themselves exempted from the Americans with Disabilities Act. You read that right - those moral and holy people didn't want to have to make themselves accessible even at the low standard of ADA.
And at least in CA, a lot of polling places are on the grounds of churches. I assume because they're charging low rent or volunteering them? Anyway, it makes senior centers desirable as polling locations (I have never heard of one happening in a senior residence, but I suppose this could happen.)
So I could at least see if there's something similar going on in Canada, that because they're letting accessibility slide in so many places, they don't have enough accessible places to vote and might do senior residences not just because seniors live there, but because disabled people anywhere in that precinct need an accessible place to vote in person.
Do you only do in-person voting there or do you allow mail-in voting?

Male Insecurity Over Penis Siz...
“There’s a limit to what a scalpel and a syringe can provide,” Alex Tatem, a prosthetic urology specialist, says in the film. “I can fill your penis with filler, but I cannot fill the hole in your heart.”

He's obviously sincere in his deep concern for all those people wasting all that energy by having enough capacity to run local models but not using it 100% of the time.
...because before LLMs, nobody ever did that. It's completely new and previously unheard of. (Dang kids.)

I spoke to 8 current employees, got Slack chats, meeting audio, and an AI manifesto written by its CTO.
CEO Andy Yen critiques AI in public. But inside, he is pushing everyone to use AI, even those with security concerns.
“That’s bullshit and loser thinking,” Yen wrote. “Stop thinking always of how to be slower, and focus more on how to be faster.”

@josephcox I paid ~500€ for a two-year family plan (6 users). If this CEO stays it won't happen again.
@spytfyre The following year my brother and family went to Italy and my nephew was beside himself with outrage. They'll be RUBBISH at Halloween in Italy.
@spytfyre My brother did send me several photos of my nephew crying with laughter at "all the willies" there were in Rome on the statues though. 😊 But I don't think that made up for missing American Halloween.
My favorite Patrick Stewart story arose out of a chance encounter. We happened both to be seated on the same flight in the same cabin near one another. I looked over and saw a familiar bald pate and furrowed brow.
“Aren't you…?” I asked him.
He looked over and his face lit up with delight. Then he spoke to me in that unmistakable proper manner of his.
“Well aren't YOU!” he responded, his eyes twinkling.
We had a good laugh. Rest in power—warp power—Sir Patrick Stewart.

The new Mastodon is great, opening a post on the original instance always 429s but the rest of the site, including opening the post from the account's feed, works fine.
When people in the old days named some program, or anything else, they didn't try hard at all. They just called it what it was, like "Word", simply and easily. These days names sound as if someone thought long and hard to show how clever they are. It's tiresome. It's always the shallow ones who go after the unusual in everything and love an odd theory.
As polls for the Senate race between Republican Ken Paxton and Democrat James Talarico remain tight, right-wing influencers, media outlets, and campaign surrogates have taken their shot at ginning up an “October surprise” by spreading at least two extraordinary stories aimed to discredit Talarico. https://www.texasobserver.org/ken-paxton-james-talarico-texas-senate-october-surprises-pure-disinformation/

@ColinTheMathmo I had quite a few enquiries of this kind when the Log4j vulnerability happened five years ago. I've been expecting at least one or two about PHP.
(I'm secretly hoping someone will demand I check that PuTTY makes no use of the number 4…)
