Thinking too about how our culture, which largely credits folks like Steve Job's for "creating" things like the iPhone and such.

Reminds me too, of the Stan Lee fight with Steve Ditko over the co-authorship of Spider-man.

I swear ive seen a documentary on Steve Ditko; where Stan Lee has a few quotes where he insists the person-who-has the idea is the creator.

Though when you read the now accepted history his "idea" was just the tiniest kernel, merely a kid with spider powers; before he went knocking on Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko's door.

@jeffjarvis I wish they really were in fear. Not paranoia or worry, but real fear. The kind of fear that a Latina mom feels when ICE surrounds her, or a protestor who is thrown into an unmarked van, or a little kid forced to attend and defend themselves at their own deportation hearing. That kind of fear.

Im aware that Obama is worthy of criticism, but it feels disingenuous to compare him to Trump? They’re polar opposites.

The whole lesson here if we live to learn it should be that even when politics are boring, they’re still important. When all you see are old white dudes, it’s the people you elected that put them there - not the presidents themselves, but everyone else on the ballot in your local and state elections that you probably never even thought about, much less made an informed vote for.

If all your ever did was think about your presidential vote - or didn’t even bother to do that - then you specifically voted for the status quo, namely, the old white dudes. If you want change during the boring times you need to go and make it with your vote. I get it - I was the same “what’s the point?” voter, but I’m not anymore, and I’d hope anyone who lived through this will have grown that much at least.

He is not the biggest loser today, but let’s take a moment to appreciate that one of the losers today is definitely Jim Caviezel
