The instance is running, I’m guessing you tripped my overanxious firewall. Can you DM me your username and IP?
Working out the details of my upcoming book tour. One of them is that I will need to write a book, but I figure I’ll leave that one for last
Imagine how awesome it would be if a weekly internet radio show was regularly boosted on the fedi by the musicians that the DJ loves. If those musicians could get their fans on here too. Maybe participate in the chat room. What a great way to build community around the music and decentralized social media!
today was way too much for me and i am melting down into a puddle
on the plus side i got more people to stop misgendering me so much and i've only been deadnamed once, and he accepted the gentle correction
Also I learned from a distant cousin on my dad’s side that there is a family history of Crohn’s (including herself), and I mentioned this to my parents and my mom denied that there has been and my dad said “this is the first I’ve heard of it” but he also didn’t even know this cousin existed more than a year ago so call me hesitant to take him at his word
Anyone know what’s good for reversing a DOS binary? A debugger in FreeDOS? Ghidra? I want to find out the algorithm for something probably implemented in assembly and I don’t speak x86. I feel like @eniko might know off hand…
@Taffer @eniko I've mainly done it in Ghidra. It has trouble with segmentation quite often, however. Ida Pro (even the old free one) is better, but then you have to use Ida.
DOSBox has a built in debugger (I use it through DOSBox-X), if your software works on an 8086 MartyPC has an even better debugger.
Throwback to about 20 years ago when I thought it would be funny to make beer koozies with the baby on board logo on them, but I had to buy them in bulk so I ended up with like 20 of them so I brought them up to my current husband's family barbecue and then my husband's family thought it was a messed up pregnancy announcement.
@Alice that will always be funny as hell.
Last look at the polls before the only poll that matters, tomorrow, in the #BCElection.
It looks truly terrible for the NDP. Hope they can pull this out of the fire and get a minority coalition to happen with #BCGreens. Otherwise we’re in for an undetermined amount of time with pure #BCCP chaos with a government full of “homophobes” and “separatists”*.
attached are polls from the end, and beginning of the campaign. Brutal.

I’ve been a Kagi subscriber for 6 months and this is the first I’m hearing of the small web portal, so thank you!

A federated ebay is basically impossible. For that you would need real time communication between different instances. Otherwise people on the sellers instance would have an advantage in winning the auctions, defeating the purpose of making it federated in the first place.

Kagi is European. Not in the EU: they’re based in Serbia. But they are European.

For only 300 searches, that’s 10 searches a day. I do probably 50 to 100 searches per day.
So, it’s really $10 a month.
I might pay $5 a month for unlimited but I’m not sure about that. Because, you know they’ll raise the price if they get successful enough. And, then it’s just enshittification.
why are you doing 50-100 searches a day? that seems high
I've been made aware of a post from someone representing Rufus who says I'm very confused about this post. I've reported that Windows Defender went bananas after I installed Rufus on a Windows 11 device. It immediately popped up warnings about hacktools and trojans being installed while it was installing. I wish I had a record of it but I nuked everything after the alerts.
@briankrebs There are some rather ... possessive communities around USB boot image builders, I forget if it was rufus or ventoy or what, but long story short: if you badmouth the product, the sealions. Dear god, the sealions.
@BestGirlGrace sorry grace this is way funnier than photos of bread with soldering irons
The AI found the problem, it determined that my alleged "high-end HDMI capture device" repeats one video frame every 144 frames to keep sync because its internal clock is not sync-accurate to NTSC.
