It is in beta and I am one person, so it has bugs. I build it with heavy use of AI assistants and test it on real phones. It is GPLv3 so it can outlive me, and I will never charge money for it.

So it’s a vibe coded map app that just asks Google for traffic data? you might as well just use Google maps in your browser if it’s that big of a deal for you

tech stocks are going just great, retreat to dollar

An article on Aftermath about how depressing AI slop has made emulation and decompilation projects, and crushed existing communities https://aftermath.site/ai-slop-hobbies-in-software-emulation/

And hey, it links to me and @glyph's blogposts

12 days before Election Day and gas is $4.60 a gallon in Michigan, but Republicans are talking about what Abdul El-Sayed’s mom was doing back in the 1970s. It shows they have nothing to offer voters but fear.

@davidgerard
One stupid question, but it might be an issue: does the weight zeroes itself before stepping on?

Second question: does the floor bends in one of the places?

No one is to blame for the Democrats failures except the Democratic establishment that betrayed their progressive wing by suppressing Sanders and pursuing faux bipartisanship at the expense of their principles. If the Democrats want those votes, they should take up some more progressive values. Some of my local Dems even traitorously supported age attestation.

With that said, I expect to vote Democratic. The establishment Dems in my area are getting eeked out more and more during primary season every year.

Today's been a fun day of rolling back parts of my tech stack to 1991, then to 1984.

I did play some 2026 remake of a 2004 game, they've dropped giant demons & level 30 elite elementals all over to end the beta world.

Then recreation of some 1986 videogames.

I could become an eccentric (YES I KNOW) & live entirely period-accurate, like one of the Transmetropolitan reservations, or some Korean costume drama, but with more Bangles, Jolt Cola, & hoodies.

That sounds interesting! And even over 30 active instances are listed on codeberg: https://codeberg.org/flohmarkt/flohmarkt/wiki/flohmarkt-instances#a-list-of-server-known-to-run-flohmarkt. I will check it out.

My understanding is federated “payment” systems are difficult. I think there is active discussion on the topic, but I’m not sure where code/development is at, or if it’s even started.

I think flohmarkt ("federated decentral classified ad software") is the closest we have right now. It has low (~10-30) Monthly Active Users (MAU), but is in active development.
