I voted BC NDP in every provincial elections, starting from when I became legal to vote & changed to voting for BC Greens, starting in 2016. I tried & failed, for years, at trying to get BC NDP to stop going more & more right wing. Horgan was responsible for changing BC NDP into total neoliberals who I cannot respect or vote for. Eby had multiple opportunities to steer their ships away from more fascist adjacent fields but he chose not to. Arrogance ended him & BC NDP government. Non-voters helped bring back conservatives government. It's fucked, all around.
In Saanich South - neither the BC Conservatives nor the BC NDP bothered campaigning on our street. Only BC Greens came around.

I was going to vote for the democrat, but then I found out that Obama disrespected the decor at Cheesecake Factory.
@mattblaze oh no 😂
@randomgeek plate contains five eggs (halved)
@d_rift @randomgeek that's breakfast, served in the bathroom. You get the other 5 at night, served in the bathroom.
The attack ads/government PRshit against BC Greens that BC NDP chose to run also backfired. Greens actually garnered even more votes than last election in this shitty snap election. Eby/Horganized BC NDP BS has harmed BC & ran off millions of their previous supporters. They are responsible for multiple crimes on humanity in BC.
My 8+ years of continually trying to warn BC NDP caucus, their admin staff & even multiple federal NDP politicians were all ignored. I tried for years to warn them about how BC NDP will sink themselves & federal party chances by continually moving more right wing. This was preventable but arrogant egos overrode smarter decisions.
I hate the BC NDP because their piss poor public policy decisions resulted in my Dad dying from hospital acquired covid cardiac arrest due to BC NDP hiring eugenicist, Bonnie Henry. They sent BC CIRG after me & many other environmental land/water/air protectors. They use eugenics on us disabled people. They supported trans erasure/oppression. They are OK violating Indigenous rights. They defund public education & helped dirty cops stage a coup on public school boards trying to prevent kids from more copaganda crap. This is only a small list.

on my way to a card shop for a small event. one of the competitors entered under the name “ejaculate blood.” place your bets:
My heart is heavy. Walter Koenig, our Ensign Pavel Chekov, passed away early today.
Walter and I met on the bridge of the Enterprise in the 1960s, and we stayed friends for nearly six decades. When Brad and I married in 2008, Walter stood beside us as our best man. Just last month, on Sept. 14, he turned 90, on the same day Brad and I celebrated our 18th wedding anniversary. I will always treasure that he and I shared that date.
Walter was more than Chekov. He was a writer, a teacher, a thoughtful man, and a loyal friend. To the fans who loved him for so many years, thank you. He loved you too.
Rest well, my dear friend. Keep navigating a steady course.
– George
My heart very heavy today. My deepest and sincere condolences. Craig

Consequences for the recent LLM vote seem to have arrived for Debian... automated slop reviews: https://lists.debian.org/debian-devel/2026/10/msg00263.html
And we see here that at least one Debian developer, @josch, has been lost due to this change.
This is INCREDIBLY sad IMO. If you're an MNT Reform family computer user, @josch is basically a folk hero for making those machines *work*.
I am still feeling vindicated in my Vibe Bobsled blogpost, having seen both what's happening to the Linux Kernel and now to Debian, where we see the dismantling not only of individuals coding, but also communities, as everyone rides the icy chute down the hill https://dustycloud.org/blog/faulty-towers-vibe-sickness-and-the-vibe-bobsled/
@whitequark is there any kind of practical device, such as a UPS, which if placed between the device and the wallsocket will remove this possibility?
A UPS that switches to battery+inverter quickly (u-sec) when mains power drops is probably not going to mask use signals enough.
A power station or house battery+inverter that is always-on, only drawing from mains power to recharge batteries, would have a better chance of not leaking a use signal.
I set that up for key generation and HSM once years back; batteries were a whole machine room backup system. It was way overkill, and we still had "noise" corresponding to ops.
@KayJanes Almost everyone who responded/shared their awakening moments, found out at young ages. That speaks volumes on how sick society has been - across generations.
@PhoenixSerenity Sadly it makes a lot of sense.

Already did some stupid shit and left my phone in my room before I'd fully memorized the code. I went to the kitchen to get some water and encountered a nice red-haired lady who called the owner for me. She'd made some watermelon for dinner and gave me some and now I'm quietly eating it tryna not seem like an alien
