A Chinese navy hospital ship spent a week in Abidjan giving out free care — more than 4,000 consultations, according to local media.
But what happens to the medical samples and personal data collected onboard? Côte d’Ivoire has laws protecting health records. The hard part is enforcing them.

Saw a post about EVs “winning”, fronted by an image that looks like it might have been made by #GenAI.
So did some digging to see if I can make a point that I think is important.
I found https://www.destinationcharged.com/features/ev-lifetime-co2-savings-explained/, which says:
“In raw numbers, a gas car driving 11,000 miles a year for 12 years produces roughly 63 metric tons of CO2 over its lifetime. An EV driven the same way produces around 46 metric tons. That’s a difference of about 17 metric tons of CO2 per vehicle.”

And imagine if you agreed to the deal and next week Putin decided to declare war again… Now imagine this happening for every single peace agreement he has ever made with your country.
@sun I've noticed a lot of modern media writing is very low quality compared to even 10 years ago. Characters talk with the eloquence of a 17 year old black kid.
@icedquinn @sun most humans are terrible writers and GayI is trained on the majority
@vriska @icedquinn WELL i will ONLY train mine on Junot Diaz and bell hooks
Speaking of Satle clues for cities you’ve been to, I don’t think I’ve ever looked up here.
@futzle Twas not like that when I were a lad. Turns out it was redeveloped at around the same time as the South Bank arbour structures in 2000 https://architectureau.com/articles/urbanity-18/
Nachdem Merz das Verbrenneraus auf Wunsch der Autlobby aufgeweicht hat, kündigt der Audi Chef an genau die schlimmsten Drecksschleudern in seinem Sortiment zukünftig in den USA bauen zu lassen. #Zusammengefasst

I'm the dev here if anyone has any questions, I was waiting till it was in a more finalized state to announce it. Also full transparency since this community is a little more sensitive on it, this project has been agentically built over the course of the last 1-2 years, but I am a SWE in my day job.
I'm sure most people here would be more curious about the ActivityPub -> atproto bridge, I call this Tidepool code is here: https://tangled.org/bretton.dev/tidepool
I'm planning full Lemmy / Piefed / Pylova federation, the goal is not only to be read only here! Ex my comment is from Coves! Communities themselves aren't being federated yet though.
OP I'd love to know what was spamming you, I can help tackle that we don't have many users and signups are disabled, but I do have some automated bot posts running but those shouldn't be federating yet.
ok though how do you get good writing out of an llm when it's also been trained on redditors

@aligorith @spudooli Being away for a day or three is rough because people keep sending you all the emails thinking you'll deal with it when you get back.
But if you're away for a month then either:
a) they don't send it to you because they need it done before you'll get back;
b) they send it to you but then something makes it redundant by the time you get back; or
c) they send it to you and it's waiting when you get back but whatever, if it's waited for a month already it can wait for a few weeks more
And if you're away for many months on parental leave then there's a good possibility that your workplace hires someone to backfill for you and you don't need to worry about the stuff at all. Or if they don't, see (c) above.
@zeborah @spudooli
Yep, greater than 2 ish weeks, contingencies come into place and arrangements are made to get other folks to cover. Then actually the email volume drops off!
(Not that I've tried personally ever... I can never collect enough leave to do so, and then cannot replenish it fast enough out the other end to dare running out completely)
