The premise isn't all that bad ... but it's so poorly executed and treats Texans like Jesus-praising simpletons who are impressed by a British accent and some crappy local customs.

And it makes Scots out to be simpletons too. Except for the rich folk who are moustache-twirling evil ones.

It has none of the mystery that carries your intrigue that the original Wicker Man has.

It's just all wrong.

Also the pagans are not very pagany.

I hope this email finds you within me.

@djsundog @arichtman oh man, sneaky bruceploitation is no good! I love some Bruce Le, Bruce Li, and Dragon Lee movies though. Especially "The Clones of Bruce Lee" which I watched recently, featuring all three.

They're frequently amateurish and clumsy, and designed specifically to cash in on the reputation of a passed superstar, but some are actually pretty good in their own right, and Le has some surprisingly good roles.

Do you remember which ones you ended up with?

@thisemailfindsyou

No

@mizkirsten we stole it first!

@fesshole Just for shits and giggles… I'll take a shot in the dark and say that a. This was absolutely you and B. You were aiming for the cat. But nice try though.

I'll post other news below the previous one, but my internet is way slower than usual so I struggle.

Don't know if other people are facing such issues too, my fiancée's network seems stable so maybe it's just my phone

@lattera Yes, except for the water bears.

@evan they might point to the same referent/idea at a semiotics level, but individually they are distinct is what I mean.

I don't want to deny a community's right to redefine what "hashtag linux" means to them. I feel like there's some unexplored potential here. I guess you disagree, but I in the end that's fine.

@aphyr
It's really funny. You basically need one skillet, a few pots, one really good knife, and one sort of 'whatever' knife (so you don't dull the good one too much), and that's like...it.

Sure it's fun to have other tools (a mixer for dough/etc, rice cookers are good, zester/graters are solid) but once you get the core things done, it's amazing how much it falls off.

@davidgerard: I have a compulsion to make sure all of my emails are read. I'd have heart palpitations at 900 unread.

RT: @ouhhon C’est le meilleur discours que j’ai entendu jusqu’à présent

@typeswitch okay. that's great. that's very helpful, thank you, and based on a previous comment i think i know how to unify this with odd comments from others about "oh, you just use the list monad"

@briankrebs wow, sorry for your loss

Oh shit, I think that’s why emails from my domain have been going to spam lately. I guess I fucked up my reputation with gmail. Currently registrations require approval, but they still send an email verification link. Maybe I’ll just close them. Thank you so much for pointing this out!
