« L’image la plus horrible de ce 17 octobre », partagée dans le monde entier et instrumentalisée par l’extrême droite, a été générée par IA.
Les Observateurs de France24 ont découvert qu'elle provient en outre d’un site d’information lui-même généré par IA par l'extension de Next.

When you need to multiply 7*8 do you simply have it memorized, or do you need to add, subtract or otherwise connect it to another math fact that you know better?
That is do you simply think "56" or are there more thoughts that lead to 56?
@futurebird thanks to the early 80s obsession with times able memorisation, that's locked in as an instant response.
But I also have a couple of maths degrees, so can 'play' with the numbers in my head, using other facts and 'checking' my own memory.
Like 7*7 is 49, + 7 and yup, 56.
Or as others have commented, (7*2)*4 or (7*4)*2 also help.
Or 60 = 15 * 4, and 15 is 14+1 = 7*2+1, so 60-4 works too.
I basically never assume my memory is correct, I always error correct/sense check!

A deserted Kelvin Way in the West End of Glasgow turned golden by autumn leaves stripped from the surrounding trees by Storm Boelo as it passes across the city this afternoon.
Oops. Looks like the 4GB SD card in my very first RasPi1 died while trying to install NetBSD 11?
Now with fresh SD card (kinda unhinged, but the supermarket only had 64GB)...
Desk full with ARM stuff of varying usefulness - RPi400, GLKVM, RPi 1...
I mean, I could connect the RPi 1 directly to the screen instead of indirectly remote controlling it, but then I'd have to dig out a keyboard and different cables...

Got some unwelcome news first thing today: Someone I've known for many years recently took their own life. Feeling angry and sad and like a shit friend because we lost touch at some point, and I had no idea of their struggles. But I definitely could have been more curious. My response so far since hearing this news has been to reach out to a few people I've not checked in w/ for a while.
@briankrebs I’m very sorry, Brian. Wishing you peace.
Look all I’m saying is that if you’re saying neo jumping into smiths body and then exploding out of his terrified corpse which shatters into glowing white pieces doesn’t actually kill smith, and in fact helps smith,
@leon This happened to me once and it actually did help
@cdrichards Did that happen
@mcc yes

Water is indeed life. I uncovered the banana olla so I could refill it and for the first time, noticed it crawling with life. The roots of the sweet potato vine have crawled inside the neck and the exterior is spotted with fungi. How awesome to see this clay #irrigation pot integrating itself into the environment. #OllasByOsa @gardening #gardening
