The right-wing owners of Scientific American, once the pillar of science writing, have ruined the publication's content and reputation. An incredibly sad situation: https://www.thenation.com/article/society/scientific-american-springer-nature-trump/

Looks like our servers are on the fritz again. Usually we aren’t out of commission for too long. Hopefully we are back soon.

Heaven forbid your kids should be as informed about the world around them all possible before they have to go adult in it. Or are we just afraid conversation with them over this topic will wind up showing how irrational a position you hold, and how much of an insensitive monster you are?
I made good decisions when getting groceries and I hate this for me
@aud My condolences ❤️
I merely demand that every person on the face of the planet has $999,999,999 before the first person gets a billion dollars. Any other setup I absolutely have a problem with.
So that we the e edition.
The actual paper is monumentally worse.
I don't understand how you can screw up so badly?
@ajroach42 Maybe they should switch from Times Courier to Comic Sans.

In the US: Secret Agent.
In my household: Danger Agent. Uttered in the manner of the supervisor saying "Orange Alert" in The Prisoner: jaw clenched, lips protruding, teeth bared.

@pointlessone I'm not noticing them, it's like a part of the icon for me…
Forgot to turn on image stabilisation (sorry for shaky cam), but this is what Dad there has to deal with

That’s fair. However I was making the comparison with the general population, and yeah, knowing that websites exist outside the big 3/4 ones they use is already a feat for them.
The odds are still very low for a Pillowfort user to know of us, but have to be a huge multiple of the odds for a typical Tumblr user.
These odds are still extremely slim. Even if there was one Pillowfort user who has heard of Wafrn, that one voice wouldn’t be loud enough to reach the whole crowd in time before they all move to something that’s nothing like Tumblr or Pillowfort (e.g. Mastodon, Bluesky). And I don’t think that there are that many more people on Pillowfort who have heard of Wafrn. Especially considering how few people on Mastodon, much less Lemmy, have heard of it.

Vraiment le gouvernement en ce moment, on dirait moi dans un jeu de gestion quand c'est la merde partout et que je décide de juste cliquer partout pour voir jusqu'où je peux aller avant de crever définitivement
