@raven What we're doing is changing daylight savings time to always be on, which frustrates me
@Canageek I would take that over changing the time twice a year. But splitting the difference would work... just be a half-hour off. Other countries do that. India Standard Time is half an hour off (5:30 hours ahead of UTC), Western Australia is as well.
took many websites offline for the moment or at least till php is patched.
100% uptime is overrated anyway
nice to be offline from time2time 🔌💤

My mother and I run an art class for adults. Every week the class starts with half an hour or so of sketching, usually a still life brought in by the students. Today, one of them suggested that instead, they sit facing around a circle, sketching the person in front of them, and no-one quailed.
Consistent practice increases confidence as well as capability. We are so proud of them all!
I think I’m dumb enough to put a triplegraph and a full-size Big Muff 2 on a very small pedalboard.
This is not the board I’ll be using for the Deathray concert on the 7th with @djsundog
I’m flying for that.
So I’ll just bring a fuzz.
But.
This will be for streaming and a band I joined called Blurred Purrple

@mcc You can use it via Docker, if that counts.
@oli I need to use it on my phone.
However, if it's open-source/open-model maybe I can port it to Android?! Hm.

As you know, I love animals. That's why I built #Pawfed: https://pawfed.org/
It is fully built on #ActivityPub and lets people share messages with #OpenStreetMap to help our animal friends: https://pawfed.org/how-it-works
I clearly cannot make it work on my own, and it hurts a bit to fail when everything is already done. If you want to join the project to promote it and validate messages, you are welcome.

A university course is currently trying out Pixelfed
A few weeks ago, we started noticing a number of applications on pixelfed.ca, where the user would say that they needed to register for a course. I don’t have full confirmation, but I’m fairly certain that this is a legitimate wave of signups from students at a Canadian university.
I’m sharing this post for a few reasons:
- I thought it was neat
Personally, I’m excited that people are trying out Pixelfed and using it in coursework like this. If you are one of the students, now seeing this post, welcome! :) I hope that the project goes well, and that you have a pleasant experience on the platform. Feel free to share any and all feedback.
- Some of the posts may look like spam at first
You might be seeing similar looking posts from different accounts on your feed. My guess is that the course has specific requirements and example templates. However, there’s also plenty of real content (ex. artwork, photography, etc.), so I don’t think it’s going to be disruptive
- Please report anything that seems off
As always, you can report inappropriate content through the UI. For urgent issues, please email us at support@pixelfed.ca. You can also DM admin@lemmy.ca as there is overlap with our Pixelfed and Lemmy team members.
