Sounds like every instance is doing the preview generation. Maybe it could grab the preview data it needs on the original instance, and pass that around with the post…

From #France to #Belgium and then to #Spain.
The governments decide to align with far-right rhetoric, practices and parties. Cops play their role in protecting a system that leads to #war and death.
#Students see the "no-future" option as a threat and they try to react. Massive #repression demands more advanced means of confrontation. The states are the ones who push the limits.

I do kinda like this shared waiting for the PHP thing to drop. Kinda like Christmas.

@tante I am saying the same with a friend, both waiting for it to be published.

PHP patches are out.

Security advisory: Critical remote code execution vulnerabilities, update now

PHP 8.5.12, 8.4.27, 8.3.36 and 8.2.35 fix two critical vulnerabilities that can allow unauthenticated remote code execution. All PHP users are strongly encouraged to update immediately.

Who is at risk: all PHP installations serving web requests, including PHP-FPM, Apache with mod_php, php-cgi, FrankenPHP and LiteSpeed. We consider the risk highest for mod_php, with a demonstrated exploit where an unauthenticated request can trigger the attack before any application code runs.

The vulnerabilities:

RCE via OOM corruption, CVE-2026-109618 (GHSA-w8hw-w9fx-j79w): out-of-memory handling can interrupt PHP while internal request data is only partially initialized. Request cleanup may then treat the invalid data as valid.
RCE via stale global state, CVE-2026-109619 (GHSA-6wmf-4rv5-p3rp): request-owned internal state can survive after its backing memory has been freed. A later request handled by the same worker may use that stale state before normal initialization resets it. — Security advisory: Critical remote code execution vulnerabilities, update now PHP 8.5.12, 8.4.27, 8.3.36 and 8.2.35 fix two critical vulnerabilities that can allow unauthenticated remote code execution. You may suffer from irritation of your ego my friend. Know that you are not your ideas or projects, you are more than that. I feel like all of your questions were previously answered sorry.

You may suffer from the dumbs, my friend. My questions were answered. Before you showed up.

@suetanvil @b0rk the usual reason I'm providing a prewritten 'git rebase -i' list in the first place is so I can try it over and over again until I get it right. For the same reason, I usually also make a separate clone of the git repo to do it in, so that I can mess up the first 10 attempts without doing any permanent damage!

Ah, okay. That sounds perfectly reasonable and slightly disappointing.

Yes, I'm up way too early. I'm taking allergy drugs, gonna dick around a while, go back to bed. I'm always in a weird mood during these mid-sleep periods.

Wait until the announcement that includes all the details before rushing to implement a partial fix. The only way to mitigate fully is to upgrade. #PHP
