KDE Plasma 6.8: No More X11, Union theming, and a TON of changes!
Ubuntu 26.10: small upgrade, but some interesting things!
The data center push proves America can still do massive infrastructure projects, but only if it's to run a long con.
The day started with a major Google Cloud outage in Europe, proceeded swiftly to the eMudhra root cert dumpsterfuck, and now the critical PHP vulns are starting to hit.
Cool, cool.

Wikimedia Foundation, Inc. is still stonewalling UK staff's unionization effort, dragging their feet on negotiations. The Foundation's attempt to reduce the size of the bargaining unit is now heading to arbitration:
@brainblasted based on their wildly inaccessible roadmap it looks like it's ‘in progress’ for the next release, whenever that might be.
So in a word: No.
When people claim that it’s no longer sustainable to write code by hand, they’re not entirely wrong, but only in the same way that it’s no longer sustainable to sleep in a bed once someone has taken a shit in it.

They killed George Floyd on a false accusation of using a fake $20 bill.
They killed Eric Garner on a false accusation of selling loose cigarettes.
They killed Kalief Browder on a false accusation that he stole a backpack.
They killed Kohen Wiley on a false accusation that his mother stole diapers.
This is not new. This is not a bug in the system. This system has always lied to justify dehumanizing Black people as less than property. This system cannot fail those it was never meant to protect.

@MaddieM4 Now I don't know this for sure, but it feels like Wikimedia Foundation is actively undermining the UK unionization effort because that effort undercuts management's ability to paint the union movement as US-focused and therefore dangerous to staff outside the US -- when in fact we have been proceeding on multiple national fronts this entire time with international solidarity as our central goal.
Been looking into how I can integrate users from @wavedashdotcom into @frax
Publishing builds works flawlessly, now to integrate their user/Auth system into Frax!
Their docs are nicely digestible and simple to read

Looks like the site has also changed, so they're iterating through the platform too. Great to see
Coming soon!
