"A unit of the Amsterdam police on Tuesday at a data center at the Science Park in Amsterdam seized a server from the Italian internet service provider Autistici/Inventati (A/I). That happened on the basis of a U.S. legal assistance request. A copy of the server's content is now sent to the US."

We now note that that we do not waive our attribution requirements for Spritely Goblins, which are present in Apache v2 (and for that matter, CC BY, CC BY-SA, and most FOSS licenses) https://codeberg.org/spritely/goblins/pulls/998/files

So if you train on our codebase, you have to retain attribution, which we consider the most important requirement to motivate development of technology in the commons.

If, somehow, you are using a statistical soup which has no way to preserve attribution, well, we don't permit or approve of dropping such a requirement, and actually, the licenses we use never have.

"And AI is not new, in this regard. The flattening of all pains into a total loss of pain has previously been the job of recreational drug use or theology. So AI is therefore more like an opiate than anything else. Or perhaps, given the fervor of its modern supplicants, it is more like a religion on drugs.

Modern automation of everything, including art, thinking, and writing, numbs who we are. Total automation softens our ability to discern between struggle that makes and pain that takes."

@pikesley home made? I have a great recipe.

Over 700 thousand euros raised for WEC!

From RTV Noord (in Dutch): https://www.rtvnoord.nl/economie/1444410/is-er-toch-hoop-voor-het-wec-meer-dan-700000-euro-aan-donaties-in-twee-dagen

In just 2 days we raised over 700000 euros for WEC (GFM+donations to WEC+various fundraisers on the page, including ours)!!

This amounts to 1/4th of the goal (2.8M euros), which is IMPRESSIVE!!!

The biggest surprise is that the cryptocurrency "community" has managed to prove to be a net positive for the world for perhaps the first time in forever, as they donated over 40000 euros to the cause via GFM and the fundraiser page. Regardless of what you usually think about that part of the internet, it is quite a honorable act.

I ask you to step up and show we are no worse! FOR THE SEALS!

Even if it's 1 euro, it's 1 more euro towards the goal. You can also spread the word, which costs nothing, and helps! (own posts might get more traction than a mere boost due to many people muting boosts from their timelines)

If we keep up the pace there might be hope. there is always hope.

@mossfet @dragon @dthompson This is in two ways. First of all, there are some parts which you absolutely want CRDTs for, and some parts where they don't help and are challenging to compose on their own. For example, if you're building a multiplayer RPG, you probably don't want to use CRDTs for everything, because garbage collecting them is challenging. But you'll want them for certain things, like collaborative code or document editing inside the game.

But you also can compose CRDTs *with* networked ocaps. And this can allow you to break through some challenging permissions, networking, and behavioral things altogether.

There is also work by @expede on CRDTs plus ocaps on the CRDT level itself with KeyHive: https://www.inkandswitch.com/keyhive/

Have a big toolbox, solve big problems.
