These are the people building the Fediverse!
@dansup ugh, tht is kind of a checkmate. I wonder if you could make a PWA app that installs to IOS without the Ghost of Steve Jobs demanding platform access for platform access. Thanks for all your work,
@notasnek Yeah, we are working on a proper PWA with web push notifications!

I'm working on improving FediDB, we will no longer limit listings to approved software, improve crawler retries so instances don't fall off the list, and improve stats and MAU calculations!
🔥🔥🔥
@dansup Why not moving sign in process directly into app UI? Instead of redirecting to website.
@jumpingpants abuse mitigation, ie: captchas on login on signup. If we only had one server, pixelfed.social, it would be in-app.

@dansup so if you don't add an apple federation option then you can't use a mastodon federation option?
Sign in with Mastodon has been disabled on Pixelfed.social due to App Review, we would need to add support for Sign in with Apple if we want to support third party login services.
@gaditb the data there was significantly more complete then whats on fedidb... but yes every one of these tracking projects is impressively rough on accuracy
Do you wish me a happy birthday, 2026 edition?
@rastin@lle-mystrieuse.tail1f90c7.ts.net there's me, @evan@cosocial.ca and @dansup@mastodon.social
I think @django@social.coop too?
@julian for some reason the thread above this post isn’t visible (from mastodon) 🤔
I've been blogging since 1998 - and a while back, I was very privileged to be interviewed about my journey writing on the web for 28 years. It went up today: https://web-weaving.jamesg.blog/23
I am working on excessively complicated artwork to announce something exciting in the decentralized network space because I love you
Busting into the late night caffeine to get this done
I've got a mid-term in #DistributedSystems tonight. Wish me luck! In a distributed way! #OMSCS #GeorgiaTech

Fediverse.observer (one of the longest running fediverse instance and software trackers, as it started for Diaspora) shut down. I think it would be really good to figure out how we can at least get a copy of the historical data and get that back up somewhere.
learned this thru https://cake.kobel.fyi/c/fediverse@lemmy.world/p/225784/fediverse-observer-is-offline-and-no-longer-being-developed
@liaizon Agreed, fully.
