History repeats itself, first as tragedy, then vibe-coded in rust.

I’ve got #PortfolioDay fatigue. 🙂 You’re invited to browse my posts here on Mastodon and @Seven to get an impression of my work. 😊
@metin I swear it feels like it happens more than once a year.

Living the dream life
Development files for Super Mario World show that Wiggler was originally envisioned to be extremely bored and spiky, and has been continuously made less bored and less spiky over several iterations during development.
@mariobrothblog it's always good to see someone transition to become their best selves

Fediverse Observer is offline and no longer being developed
The domain https://fediverse.observer redirects to sedo now.
On October 11th these two commits where made to the repo:
this will be my final release, glad to have contributed since 2011 to some fediverse stats, https://fedidb.com/ is a great resource with more interest
this software is no longer developed
Sad to have lost such a great resource.
https://fedilist.com is a good alternative
So this one datacenter in Russia got bombed by Ukraine and caused a Yandex outage. And I have seen people posting data-backed analyses showing this has resulted in a drop in net traffic from certain scraper bot networks; and I've seen people making *jokes* that this will show up in drops of coordinated inauthentic activity on websites such as "X" [Twitter]. But I haven't seen any attempts to analyze with hard data whether social media activity changed during this particular data center outage.

After three weeks of protest camps in the squares of Spain, the protesters have consistently maintained a cheerful and peaceful attitude in the different spanish squares.
This is despite frequent threats of violence from Nazi groups. The protesters have formed protective cordons to safeguard the camp and the other protesters.
Today, 12O, has been more tense than usual
I will explain the context in this thread.

@nuintari it has, but some friends told me American can make great Steaks and they’re by far the best they’ve tasted. So I’m quite curious!
Sometimes you see people making the wrong decisions for the right reasons.
But how do you tell them you think they’re wrong when, all things considered, their reasons are actually right?
It's called the "red team" because it has three members: a red panda furry, a red fox furry, and a person named "Red" who refuses to supply either a surname or preferred pronouns
@cwebber why even bother with revision control at that point, they may as well just keep a daily snapshot and if something breaks then roll back to the last "good" day and throw everything since then away and try again
@Orson_Wedge si si le montant est dingue aussi.
in 2026? god, not really
@wacholderpolka @Noisecolor Is it a tool though? A powerdrill where you can’t be sure that the diameter is right is not a tool. Even if it tells you „you‘re right, you needed 5mm and I drilled 8mm. That’s on me. I will update my skills.md to make sure I drill what you‘ve told me. Should I order screws for 8mm holes for you?“
@wacholderpolka @Noisecolor This is total nonsense, because it can be said about anything.
