How long is a piece of string?

Smaller than 1cm, it stops being string shaped. I'd call it a bit of cloth or a piece of jute.
Longer than 1m, it seems like a complete object, not a piece of something. It's a string, not a piece of string.

This morning, I had a heated argument with my wife.
We were on completely opposite sides. So far apart, in fact, that our positions seemed utterly irreconcilable.
I started to worry about where this argument might lead. It was serious. Really serious. Deeply concerning. We just couldn't find any common ground, which rarely happens to us.
In the end, she won. As usual.
So, between my proposal of lasagna and hers of fish, she won.
I'm trying to cope.

It's Friday! Woohoo!
Earlier in the week I dressed Friend as Odysseus in a mock up film poster, alongside Myfanwy the emotional support chicken, & it struck me that the helmet made it look like Friend had comb envy. So aye. This week Friend & friends decided to don red crested helmets and do the chicken dance, & I decided to write this in an attempt to make it make sense 😁
