@Kristine @catfishing is here on the Fediverse.

One in the bag. Later he rolled a jingling ball in and then pounced on the bag from outside.

Your reminder (should you need one) that the #Tories are crap at spreadsheets and not to be trusted on the cost of #NetZero.

Austerity was also perpetuated by Cameron and Osborne on research which included a basic blunder on a spreadsheet.

The cost of not attempting NetZero is far greater…and there are benefits to be gained for all in terms of health and maintaining our environment.

@vv Yes!!! omg we should do a little project together

@cwebber @jlink @mttaggart this is going to be the least satisfying “I told you so” of my entire life

@cwebber

So you're waiting.

@dlakelan I boosted it I boosted it

@SubductionRheology I'm not sure if I came up with "vibewashing" or not, I probably didn't, maybe I did

@dajb @dalias @poleguy @davidrevoy I worked at CC, am familiar with what the licenses say. And attribution is still a requirement: if it's going to be a requirement to respect proprietary licenses going into datasets, it will also be a requirement to preserve attribution. The thing I am pushing on here is that whatever copyright outcome we get in terms of LLM ingestion and generation of content needs to be *equitable*, and on that front, attribution remains a requirement. You can't just hoover up the commons ignoring the few requirements it does have because it's the commons.

@julian @evanprodromou @swf I mean, yeah, I *should* be able to. Have you tested it?

@wplalonde @Alien_Sunset it makes such good tea

@wplalonde @Alien_Sunset Oh boy oh boy I LOVE chocolate mint

@Alien_Sunset harvested our chocolate mint today, before our first frost comes along. We got a huge amount, some of which I'll be using to make homemade chocolate mint/chocolate chip cookies tomorrow!

@golemwire

Could you discover anything from context clues?

Do you think it would be an interesting poll to ask how many molecules you can carry?

Or how many planets you can carry?

What size of thing would make this question meaningful?

This is wild - somebody did a deep dive into the real stories behind this famous XKCD:
