@evan WRT Byzantine faults, it looks like, with the FEP algorithm, the logical clock will never recover if a node accidentally or intentionally sends a very high clock value (e.g., 2^64-1). What is the motivation for having a logical clock for the AP network?

Like I mentioned, the best mitigations I have are heuristic: don't advance the clock more than the expected number of activities per day, say and/or don't advance the clock at all on activities from known defector servers.

Perhaps as the value of individual apps decreases, with many more apps being released, the value of complex systems will go up. It’s still relatively hard to build and run a platform that combines many different services and databases.
One word: “Open APIs”
Ok, fine. That’s two words, but you get the idea 😅 The more we can define the glue between all those complex systems, the easier they will be to create, use, and maintain.

Just a few months ago, people thought I gave up on Pixelfed.
I said I would focus on Pixelfed after giving my Loops talk at FediCon in early August.
We shipped 11 huge releases since August, while I've been working on a complete webUI and mobile app redesign that started late last year.
I never gave up, rather I was focused on getting all of this shipped instead of teasing updates.
And yeah, the last few weeks, I've been teasing the new app, but it's rolling out now.

no one from my circles was commenting on it so i didnt hear anything outside of the bad side of the internet having a childish fit about it
the only somewhat recent series that i liked was the penguin one
it sucks to enjoy superhero and adjacent stuff when most of the current productions are marvel-disney lol

Yeah I don't watch much of that content too. But the last season of Daredevil Born Again was also pretty cool.
@pixelfed I did test this. While the home button taking to top is working fine, it would be intuitive if the fire tab also had the same behaviour. Thank you for this. Much appreciated.

@pixelfed well that was quick. Provided AI was not used to ship is truly amazing.
@abhiyantrik It was pretty easy to implement this with the proper hooks.
We don't use AI, we love to code and build beautiful and more ethical experiences!
