Vous vous demandez ce qu’est une instance Mobilizon au juste, ou vous voulez le faire découvrir à votre réseau ?
Ça prend seulement deux minutes 🦋 !
@deadsuperhero nothing even close to being so elaborate, but the way invitations work for one of my services built on top of ActivityPub is to create a "blank" actor, and then when the user accepts the invitation they can update the account with their own details. Could definitely work with some additional plumbing to import stuff on top.
@mariusor@metalhead.club actually I think it'd be pretty cool to have someone independently working on adversarial APIs to hoover up stuff from big social (your own data, for migration, of course), but outside the purview of the US.
Then everybody else can tie in to that service and import data in.
"Job postings and interviews with senior security officials at Anthropic show that the frontier AI lab is building out an extensive monitoring system to keep tabs on activists who oppose the rapid development of artificial intelligence.
In addition to monitoring activists in the vicinity of Anthropic executives and keeping tabs on protests near physical Anthropic assets, the firm is also implementing a “pre-crime” approach, attempting to predict incidents before they happen. In some cases, that also means reporting suspects to police before a crime occurs."
These motherfuckers get all the resources in the world for their cult and all they can built is "Minority Report"
I've been requested by multiple people over the last few months to incorporate direct messaging to Openspace. What are your recommendations/suggestions/ideas to replicate that you would like to see implemented on this platform?
Drew DeVault (@drew) has compiled a sourced list tracking prominent figures in the F/OSS community and their controversial/far-right political ties and conduct:

Quite an illuminating look at the dynamics and power structures across the F/OSS ecosystem.
It's hard to stop other from introducing LLMs everywhere, maybe even impossible. But that doesn't mean that you can't do anything.
The first important step is to publicly say "NO", to refuse to participate. Even if you might need some software that's slopified, make your personal choices heard. Be vocal.
The best way to show people that another world is possible is by creating it. Even if just for your small community.

I found a clever and efficient way to handle translations offline, with 59 supported languages and built in language detection.
We also cache translated text using Tanstack Query, and use your device language to check only visible captions to see if we show the translation button.
The first time you press the button, we download a small translation model (30MB) and perform the translation, caching the model for future use.
Short text, mentions and links are ignored.
On-device translations with 59 supported languages, are coming to the new Pixelfed app for both Android and iOS!
No data leaves your device, language recognition and translation happens on your device.
"We’re all just making this up as we go."
That's the basis for today's #MirloMondays find, which is by @decibyte featuring @hilljam and started out as a piece of advice in a newsletter! 📰🐦⬛

@andypiper @Floppy we have a functional FDM printer (for now). Still, alternate production methods are always of interest!
@manyfold subtle.. 😂
@DJGummikuh well, you've gotta try these things 😁
Right, so @Floppy's SLA printer has finally hit obsolescence (and is physically broken). It's probably time to get a new one. But, what should we invest in, given that whatever it is will be used for testing Manyfold features?
Something from Bambu or another attempt at a closed system, so that we *know* we can build a system that works around their restrictions? Or something purely open source so as to build a truly open ecosystem?
Recommendations welcome (consumer entry level please) !
And, if you are or you know a printer manufacturer and would like good support in Manyfold, now's a really good time to send us a sample 🤪

lots of unfriendly (=not honor robots.txt) bot traffic lately.
