Hate on what I have to say, but I feel that there is a way to use AI without people knowing.
Honestly, most of the examples that I see are people just being sloppy as fuck.
I think I’m only going to reserve the term “slop” for when people put out sloppy shit in public.
@Tock For me, it’s more about automating tasks and doing way more complex things.
Automating creative endeavors is nothing for a machine to do.
@majorlinux That was my resistance at the prior job. Everyone admitting they hated writing on my team, so I ask them to let me take a crack at it.
The frustration is when I showed them what I did, they chose AI anyway because I wasn't fast enough on a draft and they didn't care what the end product looked like. Even when I can revise it to meet their talking points or explain what I wrote when asked (because AI can read it for them.)
Explaining any of this makes right-wingers smile ear to ear after knowing I eventually quit the job, of course, because "working as intended, another loser off the payroll".

But what they’ll soon discover is that they, too, will be replaced and then what?
@majorlinux Concerning LLM content, responsible use (ignoring the ethics question of how it was trained) is more effort I find than just writing it for myself. The time taken researching claims, trimming content down and checking for mistakes is more than just doing it without AI.
Plus, for someone like me who enjoys writing, the artist's dilemma: why should I have a machine work to do that I enjoy so I get worse at writing and have more time to do what fascists want?
