Was just exploring street view in my old neighborhood and there is quite the revisionist history going on here
I guess there's a *possibility* that 206 Burger itself existed back in 2014 and they just moved in when 8 Ounce went under for good, but I don't see anything on their website that supports that possibility.
Okay actually the domain name was first registered in 2014 so I guess that probably is what happened. But I have no idea where they were located before they took over the 8 Ounce space.
Also FWIW the 206 Burger menu is nothing like the 8 Ounce menu. 8 Ounce made *amazing* high-end burgers that cost $20 and were worth every penny.
aha, looks like they have another location on Queen Anne, and it's quite possible that was established in 2014. I used to spend a lot of time in Queen Anne but it's been a loooooong time.
man 8 Ounce was so good, now I wish I could get a burger from them again
My two favorites on the menu: the Pike (which had habanero jelly), and the Union (espresso-rubbed patty). But everything there was an absolute banger.
The "since 2014" is the revisionist bit here, because I don't see any way that claim can be accurate.
When I moved here in 2012, that place was an extremely good burger restaurant called 8 Ounce Burger Bar.
They later got bought out by their employees and renamed to 8 Ounce Burger Co, and I believe that happened in 2016 or thereabouts.
They hung on during COVID but perished soon after, and then the new owners renamed it to 206 Burger.
