I'm starting a job/contract search in earnest (I have time for my search and getting an early jump on things given... This Economy).
I am told by trusted friends that LinkedIn in 2026 is actually useful for finding work?? I changed my LinkedIn profile to a series of jokes back in ~2015 and haven't logged in in forever. I do not want to be on LinkedIn. I hated it there in 2015. I am worried about the psychic damage I will receive.
In brief: wahhhh, I don't wanna!!!
@darius i was on that in 2022/23ish and now i would find it so hard to avoid lapsing into acidic sarcasm upon logging back in.
truthful words stick out so much on it, but i think sticking to it is worth it b/c of that. <3
@darius The only thing LinkedIn is useful for is finding 2nd degree connections where you might be able to get a referral. (This has always been true.)
And unfortunately, networking and referrals are now pretty much necessary for finding a job. *No one* will see your resume otherwise.
