So I'm taking one of the key motive forces of this story to be that Lü Bu is hilariously easy to manipulate
@mcc The preview, perfect. The image, through a sunscreen.
@mcc Has he backstabbed anyone yet?
@WhyNotZoidberg No no no, he stabbed those guys pretty solidly in the front
Anyway, I can't help but notice, this series promised a "Romance of Three Kingdoms" but so far the series has lingered very tightly in the range between 0 and 2 kingdoms. We very briefly got up to 2 kingdoms a couple episodes ago and now I think we may be back down to 0.
I feel convinced at some point we'll get 2 functioning kingdoms and the Peach Oath Boys will do something wacky and bring us up to 3 but we are struggling to hit 1
@mcc I asked my dad about this, and he told me that "three kingdoms" referred primarily to the Three Kingdoms Dynasty era, and much less the kingdoms themselves.
@mcc that is a constant theme in most of the chinese historical entertainment afaik. The main government official of the area is often depicted as a bumbling idiot in kungfu movies
@fiend_unpleasant It seems as if China is a place where one can rarely criticize the current government but it seems to be allowed to criticize previous governments and media/literature often has harsh criticism of those precious governments. Almost as if they are trying to say something they could not say in another way 🤔
@fiend_unpleasant I have previously noticed effects similar to this with the western canon and I feel I am noticing it here 🤔
@mcc have we just always thought our rulers were idiots, no matter where we went? I wonder if this is a prehistoric memory of "that dingus"
@mcc he's just a small boy with horse autism, don't look down on him too much
@artemist This is not a small boy… this is a large boy
Anyway, amazing episode thumbnail
