so... little worry. with entry level jobs into software development going the way of the dodo, at least for the time being, we're going to see a competency-shaped hole bubble up from now to one day when The Old Masters decay in coffins and no one knows how anything works anymore. unless the AI has also learned the way of the masters and can do this as well. so that's the end of software development as something humans do at all. so no worries at all anymore hahahaHAHAHAHA.
ok but what if not-
@mcc is that bunker theory sound? have we checked it with actual architects? are we *sure* that living aboveground becomes patently impossible? if so, then uh... good luck hosting an entire ecosystem in bunkers, fallout/silo style. but that's fiction. what thermic hackery might we invent to make the best of a crappy situation? it wouldn't be the first time.
@lritter Well my point was "there seems to be no plan or the opposite of a plan, and regardless of what happens it will happen with no plan". And I feel your questions only reinforce that point
@mcc and yet there are "rollouts". many people obtaining the same tech at roughly around the same time. no one told them to. they just felt attracted without knowing why. are these significant accumulations of same behavior "chaos" or just something we don't understand enough?
@lritter one thing we now must consider is that the Captains of Industry may now be making plans explicitly around the assumption of "and in 60 years global warming crises will overtake civilization, and nothing matters after that."
A lot of them seem to be building bunkers.
