Flailing from crackgate, Apple announced the launch of a touch-screen laptop, an idea Steve Jobs extensively tested and said “doesn’t work." https://www.404media.co/apple-is-entering-its-slop-era/

HTC Dream was the first smartphone my wife and kids got back in 2010 and thereabouts and the first android phone I got a closer look at (I was still on phone with keyboard back then).
But then my dear family went all iThing.
And I eventually had to break down and get a smartphone myself, because I live in Norway and it is hard to get by without one (hard to use public transportation for one thing). But I keep the app installations down to the minimum I am forced to have.
Jobs was a genius at seeing potential and bringing it to fruition — driving the tech engineers mad doing so.
Cook was a capable manager.
This new guy is a certified idiot.
Apple is done for on current trends.
@404mediaco As long as they don’t force us a windows 8 style touch first macOS I really couldn’t care less.
@404mediaco outside of a very small niche of people that require drawing on laptop screens, it’s a terrible idea. It’s so bad, I’d rather have an iPad instead even if it’s more costly since it doesn’t have a keyboard.
@404mediaco Flailing? You keep using that word, I do not think it means what you think it means.
