Good question...
Cheri Jacobus: Why should Dems elect as Speaker a guy who normalized and met with the guy "to find common ground" who handed over this other guy to be murdered by the guy who paid him $2 billion?

@contrasocial Agree that people have been conditioned to accept losing. We need to turn this mindset around. Rejecting a 'leader' with a 13% favorability sould be a no brainer. Let's stop losing.
I'm saying now it's not so much a mentality of losing by the voters, I'm saying the voters did what they could with a single election but we now have what we have for these next two years. And if they don't deliver it will end in a bigger disaster than Trump.
I'm not saying to stop trying, just pointing out centrism has put us behind, and it will continue to put us behind until we eject it entirely from the party. You cannot find a halfway point between fascism and progress
For once, I know the answer!
They should not elect someone as Speaker who fraternizes with murderous authoritarians, fascists or thieves.

@mastodonmigration
This is the cancer of decades of the lesser evil strategy. Yes, the elections went well, and people are starting to realize they outnumber money, but we've spent so much time in the toxic cloud of centrist bs that even these historic wins might not actually be enough, given how much "lesser" evil still remains in the party.
I say this as someone whos own district is repped by a lying zionist fuck. I think Schumer is the more realistic get. Jeffries is already coronated.
