I'm looking for recommendations to a new #sewing machine (up to 500eur).
What I'm looking for:
- good speed control
- selectable needle stop
- support for twin needles
- comes with a variety of feet (button holes, zipers, etc)
- threading helper
- thread cutter
- reachable reverse button (near the needle)
- LED light
- should work with thicker fabrics like denim, etc
I don't need a million different stitch types or embroidery functions.
@dec_hl Looks like the Husqvarna Viking Emerald 118 I bought a few years ago, after reading a lot of overwhelmingly positive reviews (eg. https://www.artisanstitch.co.uk/best-sewing-machine/), ticks almost all those boxes, the exceptions being:
1. The light is a W5W incandescent bulb, but can be swapped for an LED equivalent.
2. The reverse lever was a constant annoyance, but was pretty easy to fix with some scrap plywood and M3 bolts, so I can now operate it with my right palm, and effortlessly alternate between forward & reverse.

@dec_hl one thing to add, is that the presser foot hight/tension could be adjusted. Sometimes it makes difference with the feed.
And easiest model to keep in functional form is the one that has service around your area. (Unless you service them yourself, of course.)
PS right now I have a fully mechanical "W6 WERTARBEIT N 1235/61"
@dec_hl Elna sewing machines are very good! cannot remember which models have automatic thread cutter (if that's what you are looking for) but worth taking a look

Die hat nahezu alles was du suchst. Ich fand sie beim ausprobieren viel leiser als die Brother Geräte. Sie hat auch eine regelbare Geschwindigkeit die entweder per Pedal oder Knopfdruck läuft. Zwillingsnadel hatte ich keine Probleme. Großer Vorteil: die unterfadendspannung muss nicht eingestellt werden.
