The main thing wrong with this song is the lyrics describing horrible people.
**note, dating someone based on shared interests I think is probably actually not a great long term relationship strategy. I know it's the normal thing, but at least for most people whose interests change over time (and not in sync), probably not great to think you'll always have the same interests etc. (if you ever did). ps. do not take my dating advice 🤪
@ai6yr what an interesting idea, i've never heard of that before lol. i think for me, compatible personalities and shared values trump all- changing interests can be weathered if those prerequisites are met. in every relationship i've had, we did have shared interests! but i'm genuinely passionate and curious about so many things, and it's usually easy for me to become passionate about and interested in something, if somebody else is passionate about it too and wants to share it with me.
@ai6yr My partner and I have a few overlapping interests but it’s not the basis of our relationship. But I think that it’s overwhelmingly important to have similar values. That’s really the bedrock of building a good life together.
@ai6yr My partner and I say we get along so well because we have no interests in common -- e.g., she isn't interested at all in bicycles and I hate baseball -- so we have nothing to argue about.

@bakachu Ha, good point. Anyway, I have seen a few marriages dissolve when people's interests change. (also lots dissolve over changing health conditions, yikes.... i.e. people who were married probably over physical attractiveness and someone got cancer or another life changing disease, and the other half dumped them so fast....)
