@ai6yr
I also found a YouTube with audio of Buddy Rich flying off the handle at his band. Didn’t listen to the whole thing, but I’m guessing he didn’t go harder than James Brown.
@ai6yr elevator music. You just need an elevator!
But really, it wasn't bad background music. I recall playing with Legos and my mother listening to stuff like this.
And Carly Simon. Carly Simon on the record player meant, "go outside".
@ai6yr
Those are good songs from my teenage years.
LOL
"Wurlitzer Orbit III"
"...The Orbit III is an unusual, but not at all rare, basic monophonic synthesizer. It was included as the third manual on many different Wurlitzer home organ models since its introduction in 1971 ...Cheesy drum beats, the usual home organ sounds, and a cassette player/recorder round out the features of the organs that typically contain an Orbit III....""
"..They are of considerable weight, and as a result they can often be had for the cost of sweat equity alone.... when you tire of it, you can pass it on to the next sucker, ahem, lucky individual...."
Just put the Buddy Rich disk on... first track is "Birdland". Dunno what "Direct to Disc" means, but most certainly the pressing on these is extremely high quality. (less tracks per side, which seems to be wider spaced tracks... so you don't get any bleed between tracks, whre you can hear other tracks faintly, like on the KTELs 🤪 ) #LPs #music
@ai6yr
Johnny Carson used to have Rich on pretty regularly, and that's how I know of him. Considered the best jazz drummer.
@ai6yr
"Bicycle LP's" makes it sound like you've attached a turntable tonearm to your front wheel so you can play music while riding around town.
