🍂 Stray Kitten Report 9 (1/2)
Charlotte, the little female, is now less terrified of being indoors. At first, she wouldn't put a single paw inside. Getting her in has taken long sessions of nudging her with food and play. By the end of the week, she was grooming herself on a chair and even slept for a little while. Well, 1h max. We still can't pet her, but it's a lot of progress for this little wild one.

Also, big news: we always thought the black cat who came with the kitten was the mother, until I finally could pet her, she raised her tail and... obviously a male.
Once Blacky (named for his coat, obviously) trusted me, the real mother, Grisouille ("little greyish one" in Fr) came out of the forest and joined. She had been hiding. Both are now very friendly.
I've contacted the vet, and we'll soon sterilize them all. A bit pricey, but we saved since Sept for that.
@davidrevoy I gave General Belisarivs a male name after AMAFPF (Assigned Male At First Porch Feeding), but after capturing the General for medical treatment, she turned out to be female. And is now the second-best Cat in the Multiverse.
@davidrevoy May I ask if there are any tricks to get stray cats trust you so much? We try everything with a female one to calm her for sterilising for years. She would fight you even with the best food in your hand. The rescue center tried it with a big trap ... nothing. She was too intelligent.
@davidrevoy omg you have the exact kind of chair material my cats love to scratch! They'd go nuts on those lol (I bought cloth covers for all my dining chairs because of this)
