No More Secrets!
One thing to about all these article that report that Schumer has enough Democratic Senator votes to be elected Majority Leader is that none of them actually mention which Senators actually are supporting him.
On the other hand there are many articles about who is not supporting Schumer that list those who are publicly rejecting his leadership.
Where is all this support? Let's name names. This can not happen in the dark. Senators now need to go on the record.
@mastodonmigration What possible incentive is there for his supporters to signal their vote ahead of the vote when they know they'll be subjected to harassment from non-supporters?
@lauren Exactly. Schumer is so incredibly unpopular that want to keep their vote a secret. Heck of a way to start off this new era.
@mastodonmigration If he has the majority vote he should be the leader. It's math.
@lauren Sure. And the Senators who vote for him should publicly stand behind their votes.
@mastodonmigration
Fortunately, I'm seeing organizers on other platforms making this point. People are being instructed to call in and demand a public statement from their electeds.
