This is both heart-warming, and a little disappointing.
For decades there has been a disputed lump of rock island that has been claimed by both Denmark and Canada. One country would claim sovereignty and plant a flag, and then some months later representatives of the other country would visit, plant their flag ... and leave behind a bottle (or case!) of their national spirits for the others to find.
And so the back-n-forth continued for nearly fifty years. It was both amusing and charming.
But now they've officially come to an agreement, and the good-humoured back-n-forth will come to an end.
I find that a little sad.
