Ok, I saw this and thought “this is more vague than Picard on the bridge, Nimmy will love it”
And you just get it straight off… HOW? 😂
@startrekgifs
@gareth @startrekgifs That brief glimpse at the beginning of that unforgettable character. He, and the episode he was in, are very ... distinct. 🤨 😄

sometimes my phone clips off one or two seconds of a GIF. Often it's a vital bit, like here! 😂
@5ciFiGirl
Yeah, guess I have that too… all I see is the Enterprise flying through space, nothing else!
@Nmyownworld @5ciFiGirl @startrekgifs
👍
But @gareth is on the same instance, so that's not the culprit.
Good job at any rate.
@darth_hideout Thanks!
And good point about the Gareth and I being on the same instance. Maybe it's a phone compared to a computer thing? I'm on a computer. 🤔
@Nmyownworld @5ciFiGirl @startrekgifs @gareth
I have to go to desktop to save. Same both places (usu phone).

Okay, y'all are far more tech knowledgeable than I am. Here's what happened:
When I saved it as an mp4, I only got about 5 or 6 seconds of the Enterprise moving through space. Like what you've seen.
But, that doesn't explain why I can see the full gif here, and see it if I open it as an mp4 in another tab.

Actually same for me with the original on friendsofdesoto.
I have a suspicion that perhaps the original instance at some point clipped this down. (I suspect it's the middle, not the end.)
You saw it early & have a cached version on your computer. When you save directly, it ignores that cache & goes to the server, which has now trimmed it.
But idk for sure.
