@gael This is an extremely concerning post. I left the Apple ecosystem because of their embrace of AI and would be sad to leave /e/OS for the same reason.

@cyshini hmm it seems that you are mixing science/tech and politics here. Sorry but AI is supported by science and soon models will be a commodity. The things we have to care about tbough are about preventing users data collection by AI providers (privacy), bc today it is not good, and preventing cultural and political biases in models.
Interestingly we have started to test AI infrastructures on private European providers and open weights inference. If the quality is enough and the costs not too high we are progressively move all our AI needs to these new infrastructure. Super excited by all this!
