Next sewing/maker challenge (maybe), converting whatever this is into a shiny bicycling jacket (from the "bins" at Goodwill. Bought a cake pan and a DVD set of "Reservoir Dogs" with this for $1.50), lol. #sewing
@EugestShirley Good question. Approximately 8x6. Elastic on one edge only.
It's ripstop hylon, black on one side... reflective on the inside. It's waterproof -- there are sewn seams and they are all taped with waterproof tape (high quality, not peeling). There's some branding that looks like "TS", but could be anything, really.
@ai6yr wow your goodwill is significantly cheaper than mine
Bins is different. Must be of strong mind and body.

@EugestShirley @trs It's like hand-to-hand combat, but for the last bits of crud from the thrift store waste stream 😂
@trs These are the "bins" -- last resort before this stuff gets shipped overseas and/or thrown in the landfill. They sell it by the pound.
@ai6yr I suggest you wash it first to be sure it's worth your time.
I just bought a shower curtain to make a skirt out of. It's just beautiful stuff! Gonna wash it first, though, just to be sure it doesn't go all hinky on me
@deepmud Yep, washed already. Appears to be ripstop nylon, even has taped seams. Brand new... not sure what it was. 4 cheap carabiners at the corner. I am thinking it is either a replacement sun shade roof (but it's flat, not molded), a beach shade of some sort, or some kind of portable shade thing for camping? But no poles or anything.
@deepmud It is about the right size and design of something like this
But it could be anything -- window shade even? Ripstop, however.
@ai6yr What does this look like it might have been?
