Just wrote this up elsewhere... But this is what I think the US congress needs to achieve without delay, post inauguration:
1. kill Citizens' United with fire - the US (like NZ) needs a full campaign financing reset.

5. hobble corporate power. Remove 'corporate personhood' and 'shareholder value' mandate. Create 'maximium dimensions' for commercial entities that preclude them steamrolling nation states. Break up Big Oil, Pharma, Tech, Insurance, etc.
6. commit to a national public health. Fuck the insurance industry. Their risk. 😉

7. make decisive gun legislation and start removing military-grade weapons and handguns from circulation with extreme prejudice. There are some socially unacceptable 'hobbies'. People just need to get over it. Let 'em throw knives or bows-and-arrows or whatever. The 2nd Amendment's just resulted in a lot of disorganised idiots with high power munitions. It's not a righteous insurrection, it's a time bomb.

@lightweight I would probably start with raising the federal minimum wage. Put real money in real people's pockets first.
2. make the electoral college redundant.
3. jail Trump and all of his advisors and hand picked henchpeople. Every one has failed in their solemn duty to uphold the US Constitution.
4. kill the 2 party system. Make campaign financing available through gov't grant, requiring signatures to qualify. Adopt some form of STV and proportional representation.
