Most urgently and most importantly, we need consequences for the crimes of trumpism. He and his lieutenants need to be removed from power, or even the possibility of future power.
Which means impeachments and subpoenas. (Totally politically viable, btw. fuck dems doing bipartisanship rn)
And then voting reform and election finance reform. We can't let billionaires just keep having more chances to buy elections.
As the democratic coalition breaks up, we can't let a successor right wing party win power by virtue of being the least suppressed minority. So we have to ditch fptp voting
And at the same time, they need to be helping people. They need to do things with clear and obvious benefit, and they need to keep doing it repeatedly. They should not let a week go by without something going into effect that has immediate and tangible benefits for people.
The republican party is done for, but the writing is also on the wall for the democratic party. They cannot survive as a singular coalition in the absence of republicans who they can be marginally better than.
They need to move with purpose if they're not going to take liberalism down with it.
