okay now that we have some attention on alpine Linux and other under-resourced major-used projects that are flooded with AI security reports and fixes, can we get some funding uwu?
@fossdd Money in tech is so fake that I won't ever blame any small org for asking for funding at any possible opportunity, Alpine deserves it, Nura deserves it, we all deserve it.
But I really don't like the fact that getting attention and consequently getting a chance at funding are a consequence of a security hole. This has all the kinds of wrong incentives.
On the contrary, I would like funding to be allocated to Alpine Linux and @musl and whatnot because they have a better security record than most stuff out there. Rather than funneling money into bottomless pits of suck, how about supporting projects that are better?
It is very frustrating for me to think that the reason why we don't get any grease is that we basically never squeak.
@fossdd i mean some of us spent quite a bit of time at the conference figuring out how to get that happening...
