At first I thought this image was from a previous comic where she'd been blowing bubbles. Then I counted the fingers.

@Erebus_Amauro Well, today I was supposed to write all of this, but I'm a bit lost at finding what will be my new directions. I just finished my "poisoning arc" (good timing), but with the recent changes in the stock market, I have the feeling the news and reality can quickly outpace my metaphor if things are collapsing at this speed.
I'll probably wait until at least the last moment (sunday evening writing session) as I need full Monday + Tuesday + Wednesday for the production.

The only problem is unfortunate timing, in that the Democrats, through right-wing propaganda, will be blamed for all of it. And if it comes to a true crash and subsequent recession of even depression it will be the Dems who dunnit.. and suddenly a GOP-fascist presidential candidate, who can formulate a coherent sentence, makes a chance again in the next US elections.

@albinanigans Yes, many AI detection model now confound my works for AI generated. Totally normal; I largely taught them (without my consent) how to align this pixels in the order they consider now AI generated.

@guineasofbayeux @davidrevoy I suppose one could say that Schadenfreude is the English word for that, it just happens to be a loanword from German. Like "beige" from French. According to Wikipedia it's been used in English since the 1850s and in German since the 1740s, and those dates are closer together than I expected. Its English usage is actually older than that of "beige"!

I can think of some synonyms, but none of them quite convey what it's trying to get at.

@albinanigans @guineasofbayeux According to Wikipedia, the closest word in English would be "gloat", but as a non native (French here) I'm not familiar with how ring this one.
@davidrevoy @albinanigans @guineasofbayeux As a native (US, New England) English speaker...schadenfreude is a pretty widely-used word for this around here. Gloating is *kinda* connected but it's not as specific and I don't think it would be a good replacement.
English loves borrowing random words and phrases from other languages and I reckon this is just one of those cases
