We all love travelling. Packed beaches, long queues and crowded streets? Not so much.
Too many tourists in one place can put pressure on local communities and the environment.
That's why our new Sustainable Tourism Strategy aims to make travel easier, help people discover more places year-round and support local businesses.
Better trips for visitors. Better tourism for the people who call these places home. 💙
@EUCommission what are the differences?
Those words are all excellent and stuff.
They also don't include anything about how the EU Sustainable Tourism Strategy very carefully is designed around not restricting or even discouraging flying.
And whatever else sustainable it does, when it comes to sustainability and climate impacts this strategy is a status quo document.
It would look more serious than "just talking" if link to this strategy would be provided within this post, dear @EUCommission.

That's the way to do it. Spread the tourist plague to all the places who have so far avoided the misery and ruin them as well.
