Writing an issue and a PR with an agent that is then reviewed and commented on by an agent feels like that scene in "Real Genius" when the professor is replaced by a tape recorder playing his lecture to a room of student tape recorders recording the lecture: a room full of machines communicating in the place of people. So weird...
@sgharms "AND YOU'VE BEEN A VERY NAUGHTY BOY"
That... that is my single favorite scene in the entire movie.
"AND KENT..."
"Yes, Jesus?"
"STOP PLAYING WITH YOURSELF"
"... it really is God"
This was likely the first of one of the rarest moments in my life: where I literally fell down laughing and then laughed myself from tears into near breathlessness.
I was just the right age for it.
Now, my wife—she just does not appreciate this marvel of cinema.

I'll admit: I am unfortunately deeply fascinated by AI. I didn't choose to be. It happened to be the right thing to come into my life at the right time:
- 3 years of unemployment
- A general absence of belief in my abilities
- Near certainty of my inability to participate in the capitalist workplace
- Annoyance with hamster wheel tedium of learning the latest programming language and framework du jour.
Working with these machines has shown me that I can still manage a project and do decent enough systems architecture. I get shit done, even if there's still a decent amount of bug tickets I file in my clankers' kanban board.
For that matter, their construction also is an area of fascination.
I haven't played more than 10 minutes of PC games for about 3 months now. That hasn't happened in years. That's how preoccupied I've become.
But, then, so far, I'm mostly out there solving my own issues with as much local AI as I can as well as contribute to open source that makes it better.
I am afraid of the inequalities that seem inevitable to result of this particular revolution. Among other things, my hope is to do a little to level the playing field while engaging in something I find fascinating.
Also trying to figure out how to maybe make a modest buck scratching my own itch and sharing the results as a SaaS. But that requires a lot more nose to the grindstone.
@sgharms I am still blown away that I am running something at home, on commodity hardware, that, while it can only serve one request at a time, is probably at least as capable as ChatGPT was a year ago.
The SOTA in this field is moving quickly. It is happy food for this intellectually underfed AuDHD brain.
Though how that same capability can be perverted.... :-|
@elight And yet that is the world we have created. Asynchronous speakers blaring at each other; ingested, rarely -- but always consuming.
"IT'S GOD, KENT."
