Q2: Who, or what, was the very first person or thing to inspire you to have a go at making something from scratch? #MakersHour
@MakersHour "Q2: Who, or what, was the very first person or thing to inspire you to have a go at making something from scratch?"
A2: Never _haven't_ been making things, so _that's_ some real "lost in time" material right there. But if I had to guess, I'd _guess_ it branched out from fixing things, which probably branched out from taking things apart, most likely in an accidentally-destructive way xD
@moira @MakersHour I too loved to dismantle. I was given a hand wound wristwatch for my (8th?) birthday and I took it entirely apart seeing all the little wheels and pins. My mother was extremely cross with this effort, and did not appreciate my inquisitive nature or my fine motor skills. #MakersHour
@Janet_52square @MakersHour I watch Wristwatch Revival, that's some _tiny_. So, well - nice :D
@moira @MakersHour Is it on YouTube or MakersTube?
@MakersHour #MakersHour A2: I'm pretty sure the first thing I remember making "from scratch" was a picture book for a Young Authors and Illustrators contest. I *think* that was before my parents taught me to crochet.
