When was the last time you used a PNG8 image on a website?

@grigs Oh! I’m pretty sure ImageOptim (https://imageoptim.com) does indexing on PNGs, so I’ve probably used PNG8s (and other low-number variants) a lot over the years, because I run almost everything through ImageOptim before uploading.
@Meyerweb Good point. My language wasn’t clear. I’m trying to think of the last time I added a PNG8 image to a website. I’m sure there are still PNG8 images hanging around on our site, but we usually use SVGs of CSS for the type of thing we would have used PNG8s for in the past.
@grigs Pretty sure I’m using some now (at least some of https://meyerweb.com/eric/thoughts/2020/04/22/better-image-optimization-by-restricting-the-color-index/ were 8s, as the post video shows) but if you mean time of deployment, six and a half years ago. Possibly there were a couple in the time since then, either on meyerweb or an Igalia site.
