Dead curious (and not judging): do you use or are exploring much of the influx of open source vibed/claude/codex-assisted/made apps (and even fonts) that are coming out daily? Does being “open source” make you feel safe or good enough about using them?

@mark Interesting on the web vs native app point — in that sense, does the web feel safer than an app? (Agreed on your first point).
@nazhamid It does to me. I tend to be pretty picky about what native apps I install on my computers/devices (specifically on Mac). With web apps, I can just visit the site, play with it for a bit and never visit again if it’s not useful for me.
With that said, I’ve vibe-coded a few native Mac apps for my own personal use and have no problem using them because I know they are safe and I maintain them myself.
@mark The irony of the web vs app there — very high barrier to use.
@nazhamid I won’t touch any that aren’t made by real developers. At least nothing that runs on my machines. I’ll totally use vibe-coded, utility-type web apps that are free and don’t require my data to be uploaded somewhere. There’s so many great apps like that on the web, especially for things like 3d printing.
