I got kind of interested in the superpac structure before the election. I was wondering about AIPAC, and in particular, how common it was to have a PAC dedicated mostly to US policy towards a foreign country.
Here's what I can tell: AIPAC is the #10 PAC for spending in the 2026 election ($85M). I could find only one other foreign-policy-focused PAC in the top 100 (by spending): American Priorities ($8M). It's a PAC specifically for pro-Palestinian spending, and opposing AIPAC.
Most of the other ones are for specific races, or for domestic agenda.
On other topics, I thought the American Ukraine PAC was the next one down the list. But it's much smaller.
I should be clear that these are PACs where American citizens concerned about foreign policy are supporting candidates who align with them on that foreign policy. The country of Ukraine isn't contributing to the Ukraine PAC.
Anyway: I expected more. It seems like how the US interacts with Australia, Togo and Slovenia are all important to different businesses, individuals and organizations in different ways. I thought there would be PACs dedicated to these particular interests -- maybe more than one per country or region.
