I cannot remember the last time I spoke positively about a Web UI, so here goes: it's about https://columnly.social which I've now been on for over 48h, and it's probably here to stay.

- optically pleasing to me, no additional empty columns, and columns can have different fonts/sizes
- export configuration as JSON or URL to get same look&feel on a different browser, e.g. my laptop
- floating popup I can quickly close instead of opening in new column which shoves the whole view to the left on Mastodon (I don't have a 86.3" wide browser ...)

- reading position stays better in place (plus/minus a few cm) in spite of 400 new posts overnight. Drove me crazy on Mastodon that I had to scroll to where I thought I had left off. If, however I scroll to the top and leave it there (i.e. without scrolling down a bit), each successive post causes the view to scroll along with it, meaning after a night I have to scroll back down to where I recall leaving. Annoying.
