According to the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders EVs had 32% share of new car registrations in the UK in October. This is up from 28% in September. Petrol was only 37.2% and Diesel was 3.8%. Plug in hybrids were 15% so almost half (47%) of new cars had a plug. All the non-plug cars were down year on year. https://www.smmt.co.uk/vehicle-data/car-registrations/

@christineburns Have you seen any predictions of what proportion of the total car fleet will have a plug?
I have found it interesting to watch the spread of plugs from posh houses down the housing ladder. Interestingly, the plugs near me all for pure BEV
@2legged there are roughly 30 million cars on the road and 2.5 million are BEVs. I donβt have a figure for PHEVs
Thanks, @christineburns. At this rate, by the end of 2030, about 25% of all cars on UK roads will have a plug, even if there is no further growth in EV & PHEV share of new sales.
It's on the path from rare to exceptional to normal.
New Automotive has an alternative methodology from SMMT but arrives at a similar result. The biggest difference here is that they lump all hybrids together (those with and without a plug). Perhaps the most interesting part here is the second pie chart, which shows manufacturers arranged (counterclockwise) by overall market share. Itβs clear that a significant proportion are focussed now on just EV and PHEV. https://newautomotive.org/ecc
