A big part of me wants to shout

Why is all of this so noisy and nonsensical?
Why can't we make sure everyone has healthy food and clean water in their belly and a safe place to sleep? As a bare minimum?
How about we start with that, and then keep doing better, for everyone?"

Some years ago, I mentioned off-hand to my oldest that "Trans women are women".
She seemed surprised. I think that was one of the few moments when my kid actually was impressed with me. That was a really nice feeling, and I wasn't expecting it.
Any way, why do I, a mature cis-het white woman care about Trans rights?
Because people are people! All people deserve human rights and dignity and JOY!
We must defend and protect our Trans sisters and brothers.

Could I have said all this before the election, and maybe swayed a few votes?
Hmmmm....I have said it before. And no, I'm not going to sway any votes with my 'quiet public' posts on Mastodon.
I express how I can, when I can, without any expectation that anyone will care at all.
However, I do feel the need, from time to time, to remind folks who might be following me that Trans folks need our support and protection. And that we need them! They are amazing!
We need to remember that.
And why are super creepy old men spending millions of dollars on ad campaigns across the country to trick people into thinking that inspecting the genitals of every girl who wants to play sports is somehow protecting them?
Trans kids are not a problem, at all! Trans kids are amazing!
Creepy old dudes who are pedophiles are the problem.
Let's all remember this: creepy dudes wanting to inspects children's genitalia is the problem!
