Whenever you release a video with a world map that highlights territories like "India" or "China" or "Russia" there are these people I call map guys who zoom in and complain if their country didn't get the land.
Here's why that happens.

GIS data comes from various sources and often you're just choosing some repository or authority like the UN, open street maps or ArcGIS.
With around 150 disputed territories it's just not possible to form an opinion on all of them and kind of easy to forget to check even when I do have a strong opinion on some land.
@paige In OSM usually multiple border extents are mapped, so picky people can choose which one(s) to display. But most people just take the default ones presented by simplified datasets.
This has got me wondering if the disputed Quebec–Labrador border is on OSM, haha
@paige The Economist does a clever thing where it places a label for UAE over the LoC between India and Pakistan and side steps the issue. Only works on certain sizes of course.
It would be good to have disputed boundaries marked in the GIS data so that map drawing programs can mark them out separately. Ultimately this is how Google maps does it too.
