#Voting2026 #PollWatching #BlackMastodon #BlackFedi Yesterday I was field attorney for some poll observers. At the early 1st shift we noticed a large group of international press at our location that continued to grow through the morning. We finally asked why they were in DC. It took a minute to get around to it but their answer was "in case Trump does something crazy."😆 They didn't get that story but they got a damn good one. Congrats to all who voted and worked to make sure we could vote.

@mattblaze He does really care and as you know he threatened our whole DS ticket before the election. And at the primaries we did have nat'l guard that had to be chased out of voting locations. We have armed military showing up at elementary and HS dismissals. DC is now and will continue to be in his cross hairs.
@fulanigirl The primaries are definitely here the action is in DC politics.
@mattblaze The press thought we all looked very calm so we explained the primary system to them. At one point they asked if you have already picked, who is running against them they asked. We all looked at each other and said ...the republicans. The cameraman snorted and everyone laughed.
@fulanigirl I guess there's already a large foreign press contingent in town in DC, but it probably wouldn't be Trump's most logical first choice of venue for doing something crazy at polling places. Unless he REALLY cares who our shadow senator is.
